Textured implants are also referred to as gummy bear breast implants that are identical to sandpaper and have outer shell which are textured. The cause of why the texturing leads to the development of cancer in a few patients is not known, but it does lead to that.  

On July 24, 2019 Allergan initiated a campaign to establish contact with all the patients who used its Biocell textured breast implants and tissue expanders after FDA established a correlation that it is causing BIA-ALCL among the patients. But a class action lawsuit against Allergan was filed on August 16, 2019 in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Collection of fluid around the breast implant area

Lump under the skin

Pain, presence of mass, or swelling around the breast implant area
